January 2010

Can you believe 2010 is here! I haven't made an entry in this log for quite some time. The reason... BUSY! Millennium Sound Productions has had an amazing couple of years. We have performed all over the state of South Dakota. We also provided Muti-Media Services for the SD Amateur Hockey Association. and their Varsity State Tournament which was held in Huron. We were the media outlet that broadcast the tournament over the Internet after TV coverage was dropped by KSFY. We have been everywhere and met more people that I could ever keep track of... I guess that is a good thing. We were attacked by bugs while playing at county fairs, rained on, snowed on, blown around by the wind, and fought the heat and the cold... Yet, somehow we survived. Anyway, this year's calendar is filling up fast, and it is looking to be another stellar year. The only thing is, when I am so busy with bookings, I have very little time for website updates. Sorry about that! Maybe we will see you out there in 2010!

What a year 2007 was for Millennium Sound Productions. Our booking schedule was extremely busy, and at times hectic. In the end, it was all worth it. I want to thank all of the clients that have hired us over the years for your business and support. Without you, we wouldn't exist. Thank You Again. Now, for the good news. Millennium Sound Productions has updated the lighting and video systems. Many aspects of the lighting show have been updated. First off, we have switched to LED lighting. LED's generate less heat, draw less power, and are brighter than incandescent lighting. We also updated the trussing system for the lighting rig. Finally, we invested in new effects lighting and lasers. The overall result is quite spectacular. (Video and Photos will be posted soon.) On the audio end, we are currently updating the power amplifiers for the sound system, and will be investing in a new form of monitoring system for live sound. The LCD video show has also been updated, and expanded. These are just a few of the updates that Millennium Sound Productions has made to keep our entertainment "WOW" factor new and fresh. Have a great 2008! We'll see you on the dance floor, or in the crowd...

Millennium Sound Productions is a proud supporter of the Huron All-Stars Hockey Program. Recently we donated additional  equipment for their FOH - Main PA system at the Bergman Ice Arena. We support Huron Hockey because both of my sons are hockey players. Just last weekend, my oldest son's team took the overall season championship with a record of 12 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie. They also were the champions of the state tournament held February 17th through the 19th in Huron. See the photos below, and a copy of the news article. All-Stars claim Pee Wee C state championship

Andy Reimer recorded a hat trick and goalie Parker Hook took care of the rest as the Huron Pee Wee C team won the state championship on Sunday with a 4-0 shutout against Sioux Falls White at Bergman Arena.

Taylor Sibson opened the scoring for the All-Stars with a goal with 1:40 remaining in the first period, with Reimer and Jarren Duffy combining on the assist.

Reimer then scored the lone goal of the second period with an unassisted goal at the 8:36 mark to give Huron a 2-0 advantage.

Less than a minute into the third period Reimer found the net again, scoring on a pass from Drake Burnison. He then earned the hat trick with 12:48 to play, scoring his third goal on a pass from Sibson to give the All-Stars a 4-0 lead.

Hook was solid in the net for Huron, stopping all 23 shots he faced from Sioux Falls.

The All-Stars earned their spot in the title game with a 4-3 victory in overtime against Sioux Falls Red on Saturday.

Matt Ondricek tallied the winning goal for Huron with 7:19 remaining in overtime on a pass from Tucker Snedeker.

Also scoring goals in the game for the All-Stars were Reimer, Justin Davis and Duffy.

Snedeker had an assist on Reimer’s goal, while Reimer assisted on Duffy’s goal.

Hook stopped 27 of the 30 shots he faced.

Huron opened the tournament with a 6-0 victory against Watertown on Friday.

Reimer scored a pair of unassisted goals and Duffy added another goal on a pass from Sibson in the opening period to give the All-Stars a 3-0 lead.

Snedeker and Drake Burnison scored for Huron in the second period, with Duffy and Dirk Peterson having the assists.

Sibson then capped the scoring with a third-period goal on a pass from Snedeker.

Hook stopped all nine shots he faced to earn the shutout as the goalie for the All-Stars.

What a year it has been for Millennium Sound Productions. We have played everywhere... and have had a blast doing it! We have also updated too many pieces of equipment to mention... We have even updated the look of our web site. I want to thank all of our customers, patrons, guests, friends, family, and employees. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. Millennium Sound Productions is pleased to announce another upgrade to their Live Sound/Front of House PA system. MSP recently acquired a Yamaha GA24/12 mixing console to use with the FOH system. It is a smooth board, with a lot of versatility, and it makes a great addition to the system. (pictures shown below)

Millennium Sound Productions is pleased to announce the addition of 2 American DJ - DJ Spot 250 moving yoke intelligent lights to the already spectacular MSP Digital Lighting Show. These lights are of the "Moving Head" design, and have 8 colors, and 10 patterns. They also strobe in every color. Photos of the unit are below. There is also a streaming video taken from the manufacturers website. Millennium Sound Productions would like to thank Michael at National Speaker in Denver, Colorado. Millennium Sound Productions is pleased to announce the addition of 2 Ominisistem Stinger 4.95mw green aerial lasers to the lighting show. This new system should add some extra excitement to MSP's lighting shows.

Millennium Sound Productions is pleased to announce an additional upgrade to their Front Of House PA System used for Live Sound Events and DJ Events. MSP purchased 2 additional 2000 watt amplifiers in preparation for future upgrades to the FOH System.

Be sure to check out the Pictures and Video section of the website to view a new photo layout taken at  MSP's performance for Storm-Perry wedding on October 1, 2005. My personal favorite is the one taken after the garter auction. The Sister-in-Law of the Bride, Monica Storm won the auction and chose to remove the garter with her teeth. One of the all time classic Millennium Sound Productions moments. Thanks to the Bride, the Groom, Monica and Chris Storm, the Storm and Perry families, and to all the guests who made this a great event.

Millennium Sound Productions is pleased to announce an additional upgrade to their Front Of House PA System used for Live Sound Events and DJ Events. MSP purchased an additional set of 4 Carvin 1540 Club Series Speakers and DCM Power amps. This brings MSP's total to 8 Carvin 1540 Club Series Speakers. The eventual goal is to have a FOH System consisting of 16 Carvin 1540 Club Series Speakers and 4 to 8 Carvin SW1802's for low end. We're half way there.

Millennium Sound Productions would like to congratulate Roger and April Ahlers of Huron, South Dakota on the birth of their child - Benjamin Thomas. The little boy weighed in at 8 pounds 6 ounces, and looks to be a clone of dad. Mom, and baby are doing great.

MSP is pleased to announce the acquisition of an additional 16 PAR 64 - 600 watt lighting fixtures for their DJ - Live Show lighting system. This brings the total number of general fixtures for the system to 32 not including intelligent and effects lighting. Look for Video and Photos of the new lights in the Pictures and Video Section soon.
